 ICELAND – FAROE ISLANDS-Iceland – Faroe Islands

A UNIQUE, 11-DAY PHOTOGRAPHIC JOURNEY TO THE HEART OF THE NORTH ATLANTIC INVITES YOU TO LIVE BREATHTAKING EXPERIENCES.

This excursion combines the dramatic beauty of Iceland with the wild, mysterious charm of the Faroe Islands, culminating in a rare astronomical phenomenon.

Our trip begins in Iceland with a brief but intense photographic exploration of the island's most iconic sights. Our lens will focus on the stunning landscapes and imposing waterfalls of the Golden Circle, offering an ideal preparation for the adventures to follow.

Next, our attention turns to the main event: the total solar eclipse of August 12, 2026. Our destination is the isolated and pristine Hornstrandir Nature Reserve in the Westfjords, a place where nature reigns supreme. There, we will set up our photographic equipment to capture the stunning spectacle of the darkened sky, while at the same time having the rare opportunity to photograph the protected Arctic Fox in its natural habitat. In Hornstrandir, the prohibition of hunting has made the foxes unusually friendly, offering unique opportunities for wildlife photography.

After the magic of the eclipse and the wildlife, our journey concludes with three days in the Faroe Islands, a paradise for any landscape photographer. We will explore the green islands, the steep cliffs plunging into the ocean, the lonely lighthouses, and the picturesque villages with their grass-covered roofs by car, at our leisure. From the imposing Múlafossur waterfall to the otherworldly images of Drangarnir, every turn in the road will be a new, unforgettable photographic challenge.

Prepare for the trip of a lifetime, combining a unique astronomical phenomenon, wildlife, and landscape photography in some of the most dramatic locations on the planet.

Please note that we make a landing on the beach in a Zodiak, so make sure you have your valuables well packed since there is sometimes surf on the beach and things tend to get splashed by seawater.

You DON’T need to bring a sleeping bag. There are made up beds.
Towel.
Thermal underwear, at least two sets of shirts. Wool or synthetic. No cotton!
Wool or fleece thermal mid layer.
Take two thin layers instead of one thick one.
Waterproof and breathable pants and jacket.
Thermal jacket (down or fiber).
Wool / fleece hat and gloves.
2 to 3 pairs thick wool / synthetic socks.
Casual clothes to wear in the evenings.
Slippers to wear inside the house.
Waterproof hiking boots.
Soft travel bag (no hard suitcases) that is easy to carry. This is important. We might not be able to land on the beach beneath the house and then we have to walk about 20 minutes from a different drop off point that is sheltered from the surf. So soft bags, preferably with shoulder straps, are very good to have. The standard in these bags are The North Face duffels but there are other manufacturers.
Make sure that you can carry your camera gear in a waterproof bag for the beach landings. A simple thick plastic bag suits fine.
Swim suit and towel for the sauna.
